This project is a specialized breakout board for the Si5351A clock generator chip, designed by Jason Milldrum (NT7S) under the Etherkit brand. It is engineered to make this powerful CMOS frequency synthesizer easily accessible for radio amateurs, makers, and engineers.

## Key Features:

* Functionality: The board provides convenient access to all essential pins of the Si5351A, including the I2C control interface and the three independent outputs (CLK0, CLK1, and CLK2).

* Flexible Reference Clock: A standout feature of this design is its versatility regarding the reference frequency. It supports two primary configurations:

* 25 MHz Crystal: For standard applications, using a high-quality crystal like the Epson TSX-3225 25.0000MF10P-C.

  * 25 MHz TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator): For projects requiring superior frequency stability and minimal drift, the board is designed to accommodate a TCXO, such as the Jauch Quartz O 25,0-JT32C-A-K-3,3-LF or the Abracon ASTX-H11-25.000MHZ-T or else simmilar.

* Power and Logic: The board typically includes voltage regulation and level shifting, making it plug-and-play compatible with both 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers (like Arduino or Raspberry Pi).

* RF Optimization: The PCB traces are optimized for signal integrity, which is vital since the Si5351A can generate frequencies ranging from 8 kHz up to 160+ MHz.

This breakout board serves as the "heart" of a transmitter. Because the Si5351A outputs square waves, this is exactly the stage where you would connect the Cauer 7th-order Low Pass Filter (you can check other projects in my profile) to suppress unwanted harmonics and ensure a clean sine-wave-like output for your antenna.
